the scientific name of marigold is targets. it has  50 species of annual or perennial. they are mostly herbaceous plants belonging to the family of Asteraceae. they are seven groups of these species known as marigolds. the specie of tagets wase described by the scientist Carlous Lineaous in 1753. it is native to southwestern, tropical America, and South America
